Such an awful, hopeless place, Haiti. The country’s population, pre-quake, was about 9 million. Current estimates put the casualty count around 200,000, which means 2% of the entire country has died. And it’s not impossible at all that the final toll could be much, much higher.
Do you know about that Red Cross texting trick you can do? It’s only for Americans, but it’s fun and easy. If you text “Haiti” to 90999 on your cellular telephone you can donate $10 today. Cool! Is there any gimmicky way for Canadians to do something similar? I’d be curious to know…
