Haven’t been drawing much about Canadian politics recently, so I thought I’d just make this trite offering.
In the background of the US primaries, Liberal Party leader Stephane Dion had been making some rumblings about non-confidence voting Prime Minister Harper’s government sometime soon. The big bone of contention is the Canadian troop presence in Afghanistan, which Mr. Harper’s government supports extending, but Mr. Dion opposes.
According to the front page of today’s National Post, the two are close to working out a compromise deal, however, so maybe there will be no turmoil after all.
