Papal Problems

Papal Problems

The words of Pope Benedict the Sixteenth continue to cause outrage across the Middle East. As I am sure you have heard by now, during a speech in his native Germany the Pope quoted an ancient Byzantinian Emperor who claimed Islam was violent and evil.

There is of course bucketloads of irony in the nature of the Muslim response. Christian churches in the Middle East have been firebombed, effigies have been burned, and death threats have been issued.

Many Muslims have also compared the Pope to Hitler. Because, as we know, the Pope’s intolerance towards other faiths is unparalleled by anything we have ever witnessed in the ultra-progressive Arab world.
