As we established last day, Canada will not be contributing any peacekeepers to the UN’s mission in southern Lebanon. So who will?
Well, over half of the 15,000 committed soldiers will be coming from three Muslim countries, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Malaysia. None of these countries recognize Israel’s existence, and all openly blamed Israel as the aggressor during the war itself. That seems like a bit of a conflict-of-interest to me. How can you be trusted to prevent another conflict from breaking out when you didn’t think the war- or at least Hezbollah’s goal- was really that bad to begin with?
