The Sudanese dictator has let it be known, in no uncertain terms, that he will never, ever allow western soldiers to be deployed to his country, not even to end the vicious genocide.
He was responding to a recent UN proposal, which would have sent a multi-national deployment of peacekeepers to Darfur. The President blasted it as a scheme “to colonize Africa, starting with the first sub-Saharan country to gain its independence. If they want to start colonization in Africa, let them chose a different place.”
His words clarify the situation for anyone in the west who was still in denial: the only way we can “do something” to stop the killings is by invading and going to war with Sudan. The full story.
