The Prime Minister came to my home province of British Columbia yesterday to give a speech about childcare. I went to go see, as it was not too far from where I live.
I was surprised to see that a considerable crowd of protesters gathered outside the photo-op to protest Harper for his role in the whole David Emerson debacle. Emerson of course being a former Liberal Member of Parliament from BC who the PM convinced to become a Conservative- but only after Emerson was soundly re-elected as a Liberal in a viciously anti-Conservative riding. The Emerson story has remained prominent in BC news for months… if yesterday is any indication every time the PM comes out here the controversy will just ignite once again.
