President Bush wrapped up his trip to India and Pakistan this week. Dealing with those two is always a delicate balancing act. The rival governments each want America to favor their side, and I’m pretty sure both consider themselves to be the “better” ally.
Bush, for his part, has to praise both countries, but in different ways. India, for its democracy and economic progress, and Pakistan, for its anti-terrorism and… uh, well I guess that’s about all Pakistan really offers.
In the end, Uncle Sam will always love them both- just as long as they’re not killing each other.
