The American media has this ongoing obsession with covering “the Evangelicals” these days, I notice. This, in turn, often manifests in the form of trying to find the evangelical “angle” on any given story.
Today, for example, much of the popularity of the Chronicles of Narnia is being portrayed as a sort of “Christian thing.” I’ve even seen some articles dubbing it the “next Passion of the Christ” and a clear indication that Hollywood is now actively pandering to evangelical consumers.
The Chronicles of Narnia does have heavy Christian undertones, but honestly, I really wonder how much of the film’s target demographic even cares.
