Some zany political developments coming out of Poland!
Warsaw Mayor Lech Kaczynski is running for President of Poland, which is not too zany on its own. What is really wacky however is the fact that his identical twin brother, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, is simultaneously running for Prime Minister of Poland.
The brothers are hoping to control both branches of government in order to push through their conservative agenda. If they win it would thus be a major victory for the country’s right-wing forces, who have not had much electoral success since the end of Communism.
