By a margin of 54 to 45 percent, the citizens of France voted against the new proposed European Union constitution yesterday. This new charter is the EU’s most ambitious document to date, and if adopted will effectively change Europe’s political structure into a federal union of many countries, with a much strong EU central government.
It’s defeat in France, long considered the heart of Europhilia is a crushing blow to President Chirac and other EU advocates. But never fear, some are already predicting that they’ll just have another vote in the future. And another one after that, if necessary. Whatever it takes to get the desired outcome.
