In the United States, of course, the “Nuclear Option” refers to Senator Bill Frist’s controversial plan to simply ban the use of filibusters in the Senate. This will in turn allow Bush’s judicial nominees to be approved without further delay by Democrats who had been hoping to keep the candidates in perpetual limbo through stalling tactics.
