A week after the institution commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the Holocaust, a panel of UN experts appointed by Kofi Anan have ruled that the ethnic violence in the Sudan does not technically qualify as a “genocide.” Apparently the targeted killings which have left thousands of innocent civilians dead have not been “systematic” enough to recieve the g-word status.
It’s good to know we’ve learned so much in 60 years.
