Hamas, the radical, violent, anti-Semitic terrorist group swept to power in the Palestinian elections on Wednesday, winning 74 of the 132 seats in the Palestinian parliament.
The western world seems to be reacting with a predictable sense of shock. First Ariel Sharon dies (for all intents and purposes, anyway) and now any hope of a moderate Palestinian government appears to be dashed. Difficult times ahead, no two ways about it.
