In a shocking turn of events Fidel Castro has announced he is opposed to a hemisphere wide free trade deal encompassing South and North America. The idea, known as the FTAA and successor to NAFTA, is looking ever more likely as the years progress.
But look out FTAA! Fidel Castro has his own wily plan! He’s going to form a free trade pact with Venezuela and its socialist president Hugo Chavez! Apparently this powerhouse alliance will “challenge” the US and its capitalist Latino allies. Or imperialist client puppet states, rather. Read about it here.
