When he was in Canada last week President Bush privately pressed Martin to support his missile defense initiative. Because of our geography, it’s a matter in which Canada could play a key role, but Canadian politicians have been really dragging their feet as of late.
I honestly think most Canadian opposition to the missile defense plan is either the result of simple ignorance (ie, the whole “weapons in space” myth) or plain ol’ fashioned anti-Americanism.
