It was admitted this week amidst much fanfare that Canada currently has a 9 BILLION dollar government surplus. That’s far larger than the government had been previously willing to admit.
Like all surpluses, this one is essentially an admission that the government has taken way more of our tax dollars than they even needed. It’s thus hard to get too excited about it, though the government seems to think we should be very proud of them.
What’s even worse is that Martin has no plans to give any of it back to the people. No, it will instead get thrown into some government hole and never seen again. Such is Canada.
