All the premiers of Canada’s provinces are meeting in Ottawa this week to discuss how to fix Canada’s ailing healthcare system, which in recent years has been struggling with various funding and efficiency issues. This is like the ten billionth summit of it’s kind. Nothing is ever resolved of course, because the only meaningful reform anyone could propose to fix the system is adding a “second tier” of privately run healthcare, but proposing such an idea is considered very taboo in Canada for some reason. So instead the premiers just demand more money, then complain when the PM offers only offers $58 billion.
