President Bush was handed a big defeat this week. His much sought after anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment failed quite badly in the US Senate, earning only 48 of the nessisary 67 votes needed to further the amending process.
Bush had been hoping the amendment would be an easy political victory at a time when he hasn’t been having many.
