The polls are saying Paul Martin probably won’t win this coming election. The Conservatives are favored to win a minority government at this point, ending Martin’s six-month stint as Prime Minister.
If true, this is quite a tragic end for old Paul. I can remember when he came to power last Christmas, and everyone in the media was praising him as this unbeatable marvel who was destined to rule Canada until time immortal. I can foresee the editorial headlines already, “The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Paul Martin.”
