20 years ago, in June of 1984, little over a month before I was born, President Reagan delivered a very moving speech commemorating the 40th anniversary of D-day.
Today, I think the speech serves as a great window into Reagan’s view of the world, and shows just how greatly he cherished the idea of brining freedom to all peoples of this planet. It’s a revealing speech that I think highlights the best elements of a great man.
Rest in peace President Reagan, and may all of those who gave their lives for freedom 60 years ago on D-Day continue to rest in peace as well. Read the speech here.
