Canada’s perennial “third party” is the New Democrat Party, or the NDP, a cheerful gang of far-left socialists. They never give up their pipe dream of winning more than a dozen seats in parliament, despite suffering defeat after defeat at the ballot box.
But God knows, the last thing the NDP would ever do to win support is change any of its policies to become less hardline socialist. Oh no, that would never do. Instead they just get new leaders, who present the same old platform using slightly different words.
We’ll have to see how well Mr. Layton does. My guess? Not very.
