Well the race has officially begun. Prime Minister Paul Martin formally called an election yesterday, saying we Canadians would go to the ballot box on June 28.
Mr. Martin is probably kicking himself for not calling the election sooner. The recent polls are all showing his once massive lead falling apart, with his Liberal Party only getting around 39% of the popular vote to the Conservatives’ 31%.
They say Mr. Martin could end up not even winning a majority of seats this time around.
