Former Conservative Prime Minister Joe Clark does not approve of his party’s new leader. In a bizarre endorsement, Clark blasted the party’s new leader, Stephen Harper for being too right-wing, and said he would much rather see Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin get elected.
Clark has since been denounced as a traitor by the Conservative Party. Although, technically he dropped out of the Conservative Party proper when it merged with the Alliance Party last year.
Clark was Prime Minister for eight months, from 1979 to 1980. Since then, he has attempted to rebuild his shattered career, but no one really takes him seriously anymore.
