National Geographic has a new book out called the Almanac of World History. Apparently as part of their PR blitz, they’ve released their choices for the “50 Most Important Political Leaders in History.” I took the liberty of putting all their choices in a nice chart, which you can read here.
The fact that Kim Campbell was included caused headlines across Canada. Kim was Prime Minister after Mulroney resigned, and before Chretien beat her in the election. She was in power for a grand total of four months. She is often considered the worst Prime Minister in Canadian history. But because of her gender, National Geographic apparently considers her on par with Roosevelt and Napoleon.
