Even though Europe has now been attacked by Al-Queda and Osma Bin Laden continues to openly threaten Canada by name in his various videos, many Canadians, especially those in our ruling Liberal Party continue to believe that no matter what happens in the rest of the world, Canada is safe forever.
They speak as if Canada possesses some sort of inherent “goodness” that makes terrorists not want to attack us. We have no enemies, our politicians declare, everyone loves Canada! Terrorism is spoken of as if it is some sort of weird, US problem that the Americans brought on themselves. The far left is even openly questioning why our troops are even in Afghanistan.
Of course not all Canadians feel this way, and many do see terror as the very real global threat that it is. What concerns me is that few of these people are actually in power.
