Canada is a cold country. For years various Canadian interest groups have thus advocated Canada to annex some rinky-dink Caribbean island somewhere, thus creating a warm holiday getaway destination for Canadians. A sort of Canadian Hawaii if you will. The islands that have been settled on as being best suited for Canadian annexation are the Turks and Caicos Islands, which are a British colony off the coast of Haiti.
Anyway, this plan seems to be finally starting to roll. Though the Canadian government has no “official” stance on the idea, the Chief Executive of the Islands is expected to discuss “strengthening relations” with Prime Minister Martin on an upcoming visit.
