Whenever there is a way, there are always those who will do everything within their power to oppose the aims of the war, no matter how noble, and seek an ambitious agenda of their own.
Often those who pursue the most vicious agenda and use the most vicious tactics will try to disguise their actions behind noble language.
In North Vietnam, the Communist totalitarians successfully propagandized their war on the non-Communist South as being a battle of “liberation” and “freedom.” After World War 2, Nazi resistance fighters, called the “Werewolves” used similar language in their fight against the foreign occupiers.
And now the Iraqi insurgents are doing the same.
