There are rising fears that in the event of war, Saddam Hussinen could employ massive “scorched earth” tactics and in an act of desperation completely destroy Iraq’s economic infrastructure.
This probably means we will see a repeat of the 1991 Kuwaiti oil fires, when Saddam’s forces lit numerous oil fields on fire, in an attempt to prevent US forces from securing them.
