Paul Martin’s plan to depose Prime Minister Chretien via an internal party coup seems to be proceeding nicely.
He already got a bunch of his supporters to vote against the PM in Parliament, a bold act of defiance that is rarely seen in Canadian politics.
In other news, the Chinese Communist party is also picking a new leader, after internal party pressure forced President Jiang Zemin into an early retirement.
