Mere days after the United States Congress passed a bill recognizing Antonio Meucci as the true inventor of the telephone, the Canadian Parliament rebutted by passing a bill of their own, claiming that Alexander Graham Bell was the only inventor of the device.
Bell immigrated to Canada in the late 1800′s, and as a result, the Canadian government continues to perpetuate the image of him being some sort of outstanding Canadian. Recent evidence has proven, however, that Bell was actually just a fraud, who tried to take credit for an invention that he only had a small part in developing.
